Interactive Improvised Performances

Improvisation allows us to be anywhere and anything that the audience suggests. Without the need for elaborate scenery, props, or costumes, we have explored everything from The "Wheel of Improv"skydiving to Olympic gold-medal room cleaning, as well as symphonic concerts featuring barnyard animals. We can perform in a common play area or in the patient’s room and we encourage participation in any way possible; through suggestions to inspire our games and scenes as well as playing in the scenes with us.

Spinning our “Wheel Of Improv” the audience dictates the show format, empowering them to participate.  And that’s what it is all about at Funny Bones Improv – Everything our audience says or does is absolutely the best thing to say or do.  By supporting all of their ideas, we can not only add laughter to their day but also encourage creative thinking and confidence in oneself all at the same time!

The show runs about 45 minutes and is full of short form improvisation games and scenes. It’s family-friendly, high energy and positively playful.

“The rules of improvisation appeal to me not only as a way of creating comedy, but as a worldview.  Studying improv literally changed my life.” — Tina Fey, Bossypants

Laughter Yoga is Contagious

Laughter Yoga is a form of Laughter Therapy, focusing on using laughter as aerobic exercise to learn to laugh for no reason. Over 350 medical research studies show that laughter, even if fake, is just as good for you. By increasing oxygen levels in our bodies and flushing out our lungs, this form of Laughter Therapy boosts our immune systems and brings joyfulness to each participant. You don’t need to be happy, have a sense of humor or a reason to laugh; you just need to want to participate!

These Laughter exercises are simple and playful. They do not involve any pretzel-like stretches for your body or your brain but they do fill your lungs with juicy, clean air and allow you to flush out stale air completely. By utilizing interactive exercises, the participants get to laugh freely, develop camaraderie and make critical social connections for a joyful life.

These Laughter Therapy sessions are approximately 45 minutes and are led by trained and certified Laughter Yoga leaders. These sessions not only enhance the lives of patients and their families, but also the medical staff.
